Happy Sunday, Wakelon Families! This is your Principal, Mrs. Nealy, with your weekly update.  I hope that you are having a great weekend! While we have lost that extra hour of time, we are all delighted to be springing forward with our Wakelon families!  

Spring Pictures and Class Pictures: We will have class pictures and spring pictures on Tuesday, March 14. Please make sure that if you are sending cash you send exact change. The photographers are not able to make changes on picture day. We look forward to seeing all the big smiles from our Wakelon students! Literacy Night will take place on Wednesday, March 15 from 5:30-6:30.  We are excited to have all families come and learn more about how they can better support their students with literacy at home. Our Spring Bookfair will also be open to all families to shop with their students.  We will also have more engaging and fun STEM activities for the students in the gym.  Please see this Literacy Night Flyer to learn more about this fun and exciting opportunity.

• Monday- Friday 10:05 am- 10:30 am

• Monday-Friday 12:15 pm- 1:00 pm

• Monday-Friday 3:30 pm-4:15 pm

• March 15 (Literacy Family Engagement) 5:30 pm- 6:30 pm

Single Subject Acceleration (SSA): It is almost time for the SSA Testing Window! Please watch THIS VIDEO from Ms. Stephens for more information on what SSA is, when the test request/testing windows are, and if your child would be a good candidate for SSA. If you feel your child would be a good candidate AFTER watching the video and/or contacting Ms. Stephens, please fill out this SSA Test Request Google Form. There is also a bit.ly and QR code on the presentation. If you have any questions, please reach out to Ms. Stephens directly through Talking Points or kstephens3@wcpss.net. The deadline for test requests is March 24th. 

Yearbooks will be on sale until Friday, March 31st. The cost is $16. Yearbooks may be ordered online at www.strawbridge.net using the code YB25607. Please remember to send in the online confirmation code with your student. Other forms of acceptable payments include cash and check. Please send a message to your teacher if you need an extra order form.
