Read Across America Week will take place Monday through Friday (February 27-March 3).  We have our flyer on our Wakelon Elementary Twitter page.  Please click here to see all the fun Spirit Days we are highlighting this week in celebration of Read Across America.

Carolina Mudcats Literacy Assembly will take place for all students on Monday, February 27.  We are kicking off a Book Challenge with Muddy.  This will be an exciting engagement for all of our students.  More information about the book challenge will come home with students on Monday.

Spring Pictures and Class Pictures: We will have class pictures and spring pictures on Tuesday, March 14. Your student will receive two flyers, one for their class picture and one for individual pictures. Please make sure that if you are sending cash you send exact change. The photographers are not able to make changes on picture day. We look forward to seeing all the big smiles from our Wakelon students! Quarter 3 Interim Reports will go home with all students on Friday, March 3.  It is important for all parents/guardians to be aware of their child’s current academic progress.  Please look for those reports in the Take Home folder on Friday. 

Free/Reduced Lunch Application: Families, please make sure you have completed the Free and Reduced Lunch Application.  As a Title 1 School, Wakelon receives additional funding to support staffing our school with qualified teachers and also provides opportunities for additional school resources.  Those funds are allocated to us when we reach a certain percentage of students who receive Free and Reduced lunch. Please go to our school website to complete the lunch application.  If you have any questions, please call our school and ask to speak with Mrs. Cooke.  Thank you!

PTA Spirit Wear sales will begin on Tuesday.  We have chosen a nice design for our new shirt. The sale will begin on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, and will end on Friday, March 3, 2023.  Due to the nature of the sale and the turnaround time, our PTA will not be able to accept any additional order forms/money after Friday, March 3rd.  Order forms will come in your child’s take-home folders. 

5th Grade Students, Please read this form carefully to learn more about upcoming Middle School regeneration. English registration letter and Spanish registration letter.

After-School Clubs: Day 1 was a success.  Please know that we are not accepting any additional applications at this time.  Students have to be picked up by 5:30 in order to continue in the clubs.  Thank you for your cooperation.
