Week of January 30, 2023

Happy Thursday, Wakelon Families! This is your Principal, Mrs. Nealy, with your weekly update.  I hope that you are having a great weekend. I am sharing the family message a little early this week.

Math/STEM Night is taking place this evening from 5:30 to 6:30. We are strongly encouraging all families to participate if you can.  Math instruction is a significant component in your child’s K-12 educational career.  You are our partners in all things.  Please come out and let our phenomenal teaching staff engage you and your student(s) in fun math and STEM activities.

Tomorrow is Teacher's Workday.  Please do not forget that the school will be closed to all students.  We hope that you enjoy the extra time with your children.  We look forward to having everyone back on Monday morning.

Spelling Bee: Are you a great speller? Wakelon Elementary is excited about hosting our first Spelling Bee! Participants will be asked to spell a wide variety of words. Prizes will be given to two runners-up and one student will be named "The Spelling Bee Champion". Please have your child speak with our Media Specialist,  Ms. Allen to sign up to participate.

Afterschool Tutoring Sessions & Clubs are coming back for all 3-5 students.  We will be sharing more information in the coming weeks.  Please look out for our flyer in next week’s newsletter.
