Week of January 23, 2023
Happy Sunday, Wakelon Families! This is your Principal, Mrs. Nealy, with your weekly update. I hope that you are having a great weekend.
mCLASS: Students will continue with the mCLASS mid-year benchmark assessments this week. Thank you in advance for sending your students to school daily. We appreciate your efforts in making sure that your students are present daily to participate in the great teaching and learning that our teachers provide.
Spelling Bee: Are you a great speller? Wakelon Elementary is excited to host our first Spelling Bee! Participants will be asked to spell a wide variety of words. Prizes will be given to two runners-up and one student will be named "The Spelling Bee Champion". Please have your child speak with our Media Specialist, Ms. Allen to sign up to participate.
Math & STEM Family Night: We are looking forward to our 2nd Family Engagement event. This quarter we will be focusing on Math strategies and STEM activities that are specifically for parents to do with their children at home. We are strongly encouraging all families to participate if you can. Math instruction is a significant component in your child’s K-12 educational career. You are our partners in all things. Please come out and let our phenomenal teaching staff engage you and your student(s) in fun math and STEM activities.
