Morning Arrival:  If you drop your child off after 9:15, you must come inside and sign him/her in.  You can not send your child in alone.  Students are not allowed to sign themselves into school.

 

Dance:  Parents we look forward to seeing many of you on Saturday, March 7  from 3:00-5:00 at our dance!  Unfortunately, we are at capacity and can not accept any additional forms.  We will also not be collecting money at the door.  We currently have over 200 attendees! Parents unforutnately we are not able to refund anyone for the dance, due to items being purchased already.  Thank you for understanding.

 

Read Across America Week: March 2-March 6

  • Monday-Wear a crazy hat or cap to school!
  • Tuesday-Wear your favorite or wackiest socks!
  • Wednesday-Wear mismatched socks, shoes or clothes today!
  • Thursday-Lunch and Read!  Parents please join us for lunch and birthday cake!
  • Friday-Wear your favorite college shirt or favorite place you have traveled shirt!  You can also wear your Wakelon shirt!

Readvolution: We are excited to share that the students who met their Reading goal for Readvolution have been given information to access their tickets for an upcoming game.  Parents, please see the brown envelope that was sent home on Monday.  Students who elect not to attend the game, are invited to join us Friday, February 28 to watch the game on the BIG screen in the gym. The time is 7:00-9:00 and students may wear pajamas and bring blankets/sleeping bags.  Pizza, chips, cookies and drinks will be served.

 

Kindergarten Kick-Off:  It’s time for kindergarten registration for the 20-21 school year!  We will hold our kick-off event on Thursday, March 19.  The time is 4:30-6:00.  Please come out and register your child.  Refreshments will be served along with parting gifts for all students.  Please come out and join us!!! 

 

Tardies: Parents please make sure your child arrives at school on time.  The tardy bell rings at 9:15.  We start instruction promptly at 9:20 after the announcements.  We are noticing that there is an increase of students who are arriving late to school and missing instruction.  Thank you for your attention to this important matter.

 

Sick Students: Parents it is flu season and we have had several teachers and students out of school.  Please help us maintain a healthy school environment by keeping students who are sick at home until they are fever and/or symptom-free.  

Clubs:  Clubs for students in 3rd-5th grade are up and running.  All clubs will be held afterschool from 4:15-5:30 Parents, please make arrangements for your child to be picked up on time. 

Snacks:  Our students receive a fresh fruit and vegetable snack three days a week this month (Monday, Wednesday and Friday).    Please encourage your child to participate in this healthy snack choice.
