Hello Wakelon Families!  This is Ms. Cooper with the weekly message.

Family Academy: Please join us on Septemebr 24 for our first Family Acadmey seesion on "Having Succesful Parent Conferences."  The session will be held in English and Spanish.  Dinner will be served at 5:30.  We will begin our learning at 6:00.  Make sure you return the RSVP form to your child's homeroom teacher.

Lunch Accounts:  Letters were sent home on Friday with an update on your child’s lunch account.

Field Day: We will have our annual Field Day on Friday, October 11.  Information will be sent home tomorrow.

AIG Testing: Would you like to nominate your child for the Academically

or Intellectually Gifted program?  Nominations are accepted all year. Fall Testing for grades 4-5 will start October 15. Contact Wakelon's AIG teacher, Kytrina Frederick, at  or your child’s classroom teacher for more information.

Open House:  Please join us on Tuesday, October 17 for our Open House event.  We are inviting you to come “Dine and Dish” with your child’s teacher.    The Book Fair will also be open during this time.  Food trucks will be available to purchase food for dinner.  Dinner at 5:30 and PTA Meeting begins at 6:00.  The focus of the evening will be helping your student to be successful in Math.

Carpool: Parents carpool drop off beings at 8:45. If you are picking your child up thru carpool, please make sure you have a Wakleon issued carpool tag.  You will have to park and come inside to retrieve a tag if you do not have one when you arrive on campus.

Snacks:  Our students receive a fresh fruit and vegetable snack four days a week this month.  The snack menu for this week is as follows: Oranges, Grapes, Zucchini w/ranch.  Please encourage your child to participate in this healthy snack choice.
