Hello Wakelon families! This is Ms. Cooper with your weekly message.

Carpool: Parents please make safe choices when dropping your child off in carpool.  All parents must come through the carpool loop or walk up to the front of the building with your child.  Please help us ensure that all students have a safe arrival and dismissal daily.

Family Academy: Please join us on Septemebr 24 for our first Family Acadmey seesion on "Having Succesful Parent Conferences."  The session will be held in English and Spanish.  Dinner will be served at 5:30.  We will begin our learning at 6:00.  Make sure you return the RSVP form to your child's homeroom teacher.

Buses: Wake County transportation is requiring that all students receive a bus tag.   Please report lost tags to child’s teacher immediately.  He/she will not be allowed to ride the bus, even if they are a regular rider, without a tag.  Making sure every child makes it to their expected destination each day is a top priority for us.  Please help us by communicating in a timely manner.

Transportation Changes: Parents please refrain from making daily changes to your child's transportation for dismissal. It becomes very confusing for the student and teacher.  Each child should have a regular mode of transportation to and from school. Changes should be limited and infrequent.

Early Check-Out: To minimize classroom interruptions, students can not be checked out after 3:15. This allows us time to prepare for dismissal.  Please plan accordingly.

Fall Fundraiser:  All orders are due back by September 17.  Please support our PTA by participating in the fundraiser. I also encourage you to join our PTA if you haven't already.  They do so much to support our students and teachers...they could really use your support!

Breakfast/Lunch:  All students at Wakelon will receive free breakfast each day.  If you have questions regarding our menus or completing forms for free/reduced lunch please visit our website. Under the Parents tab is School Meals.  You will find all the necessary information related to Child and Nutrition.  Parents, please update your information regarding lunch forms if you received Free or Reduced lunch last year.  The deadline is October 8.  Also, if your child paid full price, please be sure to add money to their account in a timely manner.  If you have questions, please call the school and ask to speak with our Cafeteria Manager.

Snack: We will provide fresh fruits and vegetables for snack on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday this school year.  This week's snacks are: Plums. Fuji Apples and cucumbers with ranch dressing.
