Best Season Ever for Robotics!

This past weekend the HSHS Robotics Team competed in the District competition in Raleigh.
The team dominated the first day, with a first place ranking out of 33 teams! After the second day, the HSHS team ended up as the 3rd place playoff captain. The team did very well, and ended up with a high enough score that they received an invitation to the NC State Championship next weekend being held at Campbell University!
The HSHS team will compete against 31 other teams in the state to decide who will attend the National Championship in Houston, TX. Some of the other teams competing for the state title include:  Chapel Hill, Green Hope HS, SE Raleigh HS, Apex HS, as well as teams from Charlotte, Greenville, Greensboro, and RTP.
We are extremely proud of the kids, who have had so many HSHS “firsts” this year, including:
* First time the robot was completed early before the build deadline
* First time having time to test and improve before the competition
* First time running through all matches without needing major repairs
* First time placing in the top 5 qualifying teams in a competition
* First time leading a playoff competition team as captain
* First time qualifying for the North Carolina State Championship
Way to go, Robotics Team!  We are proud of you!
