May 16th Mid-Week Message

Good Afternoon Holly Springs High School Families, this is your principal Rob Morrison with our mid-week message.  
HSHS Students - Flight Academy is scheduled for August 15th. If you are interested in volunteering there is a required interest meeting on May 31st during A lunch in the media center. 
Yearbook Distribution is next Tuesday, May 21.  More information HERE
NHS Cording and Induction Ceremony is Wednesday, May 22nd at 6 pm in the Auditorium. We look forward to celebrating the graduating NHS seniors and welcoming the new inductees!
Need Service Hours?  The HSHS Garden is in need of student volunteers this summer!  Interested students should plan on attending a short meeting after school on Tuesday, May 21st from 2:25-2:50pm in room 3706.  Interested students will sign-up to maintain and manage the HSHS Garden for a specific week (June 10th - Aug. 11th).  Responsibilities will include weeding, watering, and delivering any & all harvested fruits & vegetables to the HS Food Cupboard.
Interested in learning more about careers in laboratory science and the function of a Public Health Laboratory? The North Carolina State Laboratory of Public Health High School Summer Program may be for you. Students will spend one week at NCSLPH learning about our laboratories that serve the citizens of North Carolina. This free experience will include touring laboratories, meeting scientists, gaining laboratory skills, exploring public health career opportunities and job shadowing. Application/Recommendation deadline: June 6, 2024

District-wide family surveyHSHS needs your input! We are asking all families to complete the District-Wide Family Survey from Monday, April 8 through Friday, May 17. This survey provides families the opportunity to provide valuable information and high-quality data for planning and School Improvement. Students Interested in Automobiles: Occoneechee Council, BSA just released the flyer and registration link for School Year 2024-2025 Explorer Post 746(9th-10th graders) and Explorer Club 746(7th-8th graders) for young ladies and young men ages 12-16 at Wake Tech Hendrick Center for Automotive Excellence. The First Nighter (Orientation) is Thursday, May 30th at 6:30pm and the program starts on September 12, 2024 with meetings on the 2nd and 4th Thursday September 2024-May 2025. They are also still accepting youth in the Carolina Exotic Car Club Explorer Post 25 and Explorer Club 25 for youth ages 13-17 (current 7th - 11th graders). Golden Hawks Booster Club:  Our next meeting will be Wednesday May 15th at 7pm.We will hold elections for 2024-25 Board Members. If you would like to be considered for a Board Member position, please email by ASAP.

Interested in Student Council for next year?  We help plan events such as the homecoming dance, the powderpuff football game, volleybros, cram for exams, prom and more.  If you are trying to decide if you want to run for an officer position or be a grade level representative, please attend one of the following MANDATORY MEETINGS. All meetings will be A lunch or B lunch. You may attend either half of lunch. The information given will be the same. All meetings will take place in room 3624 with Mrs. Richer. Questions?

Wake Tech CCP (Career and College Promise)- Many students have questions or need assistance with CCP.  Our counselors have designated every Tuesday during A lunch in the Media Center as a time to work with our students to assist them with this.  No sign up is needed, please go there on Tuesdays with any questions you may have with this program. 
Support the Choir and Theatre Programs and buy tickets for the basket raffle. Tickets are only $2.00. There are 7 baskets to choose from worth up to $825!! The choir drawing will be at the choir banquet on 5/21. The Theatre drawing will be held 5/29 at the Goldie Awards. You do not need to be present to win.
