The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test is a program cosponsored by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation. It's a standardized test that provides firsthand practice for the SAT®. It measures critical reading skills, math problem-solving skills, and writing skills. As part of the SAT® Suite of Assessments, itʼs designed to help prepare students for the SAT, college, and careers. Students who take the PSAT/NMSQT in 11th grade may enter the National Merit® Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships. In addition, personalized SAT Practice on Khan Academy® is FREE for all students who take the PSAT/NMSQT and is a great way to prepare for the SAT.
