WCPSS May Employee Excellence Award: We are proud to announce that our very own, Ms. Vickie Smith, 6th grade science teacher has been selected as a WCPSS May Employee Excellence Award winner! This well-deserved recognition honors her dedication, innovation, and the positive impact she makes in our school community each and every day. Her passion for science and commitment to student success truly sets her apart. Way to go, Mrs. Smith.

Spring Chorus Concert: Tuesday, 6/10/25 at 6:30 PM. Our talented student musicians have been working hard all semester, and we’re excited to showcase their growth, creativity, and collaboration. This performance will feature a variety of ensembles and styles, highlighting the joy and energy that music brings to our school community.

EOG/EOC Tests: (EOG) & End-of-Course (EOC) testing begins this week, and our students are ready to show what they’ve learned! These important EOG and EOC assessments help measure academic progress and celebrate the growth our students have made throughout the year. We encourage every student to show up focused, confident, and ready to do their best. Please make sure your child is present and on time for each testing day — your support truly makes a difference! Band Instrument Tryouts for Rising 6th Graders: Do you have a rising 6th grader who is ready to join the fun in band! Come explore instruments, make some noise, and find your perfect fit in the band, this Saturday, June 14th, 9 AM–5 PM! Learn more & sign up for a time slot here.

Rising 7th Grade - Important! Immunizations Required:  NC State Law mandates that all 7th-grade students have their TDAP and Meningococcal (MCV) vaccines by the start of their 7th grade year, July 28, 2025.  7th grade students who have not submitted their immunizations will be suspended based on policy.  Please return immunization records showing Tdap and Meningococcal (MCV) vaccines anytime between now and July 28, 2025. Immunization records may be dropped off at the front office or emailed to kbograd@wcpss.net.  We appreciate your attention to this mandate.
