Process for Schedule Corrections

NOTE:  You must be signed in with your WakeID in order to submit a schedule change request.          
 

Once submitted, the schedule correction request will either be:

  • Approved in which case the student will see the change to their schedule in PowerSchool.
       
  • Denied in which case there will be an email to the student's WCPSS email address giving a reason why the change was denied.
           

Students should anticipate that most change requests will not be addressed until counselors return August 17.

 

Criteria for Schedule Corrections
   

Please note that schedule updates will only be made for the following reasons:

  • Course was previously taken and passed 

  • Increase or decrease in rigor (where available seats permit the change)

  • Student did not choose the elective as a primary or alternate course selection.

  • Hole in schedule

  • Student does not meet the prerequisites for the course.
               

With an estimated 2,800 students, most class sessions are full and changes will be very limited.  Requests to change courses that were requested as primary or alternate course selections that do not meet the criteria above will be denied.

 

Questions

Students with questions about their schedule prior to August 17 can be sent to apexfriendshiphs@wcpss.net.  Starting August 17, questions should be referred to the assigned school counselor.
