Carpool Safety – We are experiencing long lines in Carpool. The carpool video is listed below and is on our website. Please follow the guidelines in the video. ATTENTION SENIORS AND SENIOR PARENTS: Due to the forecasted heavy rains on the original DECK the DECK date has been POSTPONED until Monday, September 4th from 4:30 - 7:30 PM. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
Juniors and Seniors – Jostens will be at WFHS during lunches in the main lobby on September 13th to hand out ordering information for graduation regalia and for class rings.
Senior Parent Night is on 9/14 at 6pm in the WFHS auditorium. Come and learn about planning for your student's senior year and beyond.
Senior students- If you are applying on commonapp please add your counselor to your application, however, note that counselors have 2 weeks past your student deadline to submit their letter of recommendation/transcript. This does not stop you have submitting your portion of the application.
Sending your Transcripts with the Initial Application
If you are applying to a college that uses the Common Application, your counselor will upload your transcript for you once you have added their email address to your common app application. (This is not done until after the County Rerank day at the end of September)
For colleges and universities in North Carolina that DO NOT use the Common Application, request that your transcript be sent using your CFNC account. If you do not have an account with CFNC, click HERE to create one. Please remember to include your student number when setting up your student profile or it will not allow you to send your transcript.
For out-of-state colleges and universities that DO NOT use the Common Application or need an official transcript sent for a scholarship or CCP, click HERE to send your transcript. Please note that the first 3 transcripts sent to out of state schools are free and then there is a charge of $5.
Testing News - WFHS will offer the optional PSAT/NMSQT in school on Wednesday, October 19, 2023. The PSAT/NMSQT allows 11th grade students the opportunity to potentially qualify for a National Merit scholarship if they receive a very high score (generally the top 1%), though any student is able to register to test. The PSAT/NMSQT administration fee is $15.30. WCPSS is offering the test free of charge to those juniors with a 4.375 GPA or higher. Registration is open through 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, September 7. Please see the school's website for registration details.
From PTSA – Please help us reach our goal of $5000 in the 2023-2024 COUGAR CHALLENGE! An envelope will be sent home with your student on Wednesday, September 6. There are 2 easy ways to donate, you can send the envelope back to the front office or give to a staff member OR you can scan the QR code on the front of the envelope to donate online! While donating, you can join the PTSA and/or give us your information to link your grocery store shopping cards for credit back to WFHS. Thank you so much for supporting the WFHS PTSA!
Attendance procedures – Students who need to arrive late or check out of school for appointments should follow the attendance procedures. Details on attendance procedures can be found in the WFHS Handbook on our school website under Students and WFHS Student Handbook.
