10-18-21 Message from Principal Hamler

WAKE FOREST HIGH SCHOOL

Principal Message

October 18, 2021

Hello, this is Patti Hamler, Principal of Wake Forest High School.

Junior and Sophomore students:

You are invited to attend an information session about Governor’s School on Thursday, October 21 at 2:30 pm in the Media Center.

Governor’s School is a 4-week summer residential program for high achieving students. Students must have a 3.75 unweighted or weighted GPA for academic nominations and a 3.5 unweighted GPA for arts nominations.

Seniors:

Time is running out! Every senior who has not been photographed yet for the yearbook must go online and sign up for an appointment at the Morrisville studio location. You must be photographed no later than November 6th to make the yearbook deadline.

To be in the yearbook, you must be photographed by Prestige. Take a formal AND a casual photo with them for the yearbook. Both are used in the yearbook, and both must be from Prestige. Note: If you took a picture for a senior ID on September 8th when students in grades 9-11 took their pictures, that photo is NOT used for your yearbook senior portrait - that image was just for your ID card.

To make an appointment, call 919-377-0026.

Also, senior ad information is now available. If a parent wants to purchase an ad for their senior, here is the link to the order form: https://forms.gle/KQ55e1zF22GHKi5h6

It is also College application week and a select group of NC schools have opened their application fee free for this week only (Oct 18-22)! However, students must apply through CFNC.org.

A counselor will be in the media center on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday during ALL LUNCHES to help any student that needs application assistance. Encourage your students to get help during those times if they have mentioned that they are struggling.

That’s all for today! Go COUGARS!
