9-10-21 Message from Principal Hamler

Principal Message

September 10, 2021

Hello, this is Patti Hamler, Principal of Wake Forest High School.

Graduation 2022 is Tuesday, June 14, 2021, at 8:00 AM at the Raleigh Convention Center.

WFHS will administer the optional PSAT on Wednesday, 10/13.  Students wishing to test must register by Monday, 9/13. No late registrations will be accepted. Registration information is found on the WFHS website.  The cost for the PSAT is $18. WCPSS is offering the PSAT free to juniors with a GPA of 4.34 or higher; students who qualify will receive an email with specific information on registration. Fee waivers are also available for students having a financial need. See the WFHS website for full information on PSAT.

Virtual Senior Parent Night will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, beginning at 7:00 pm.  Please see this flyer for more information.

The Wake Forest Police Department Traffic Unit has informed us that students are going up the wrong way on N. College Street between North Avenue and W Pine Street in the mornings. If the violations continue, citations will be issued.

North Carolina state immunization law requires that all students, including those participating in the virtual academy, are up to date with immunizations by the first day of school.  Seniors are now required to have the meningococcal vaccine. You are encouraged to immediately check with your doctor to ensure your child is up to date and provide the school with an updated copy of the shot record.  If you do not have a healthcare provider, you can call 919-562-6300 to schedule an appointment at the Health and Human Services Northern Regional Center.  Please do not delay in providing this information to our school.  This is now past due. You can email the records to, or drop off a copy to the school main office.

Reminder masks are required – over your nose and under your chin.  Thank you to those who wear your mask properly. Remember to put your mask back on after you eat your lunch. Your assistance in keeping everyone safe is much appreciated.

That’s all for today! Have a great weekend! Go COUGARS!
