WAKE FOREST HIGH SCHOOL

Principal Message

March 26, 2021

Hello Cougar Families! This is Patti Hamler, Principal of Wake Forest High School.

All sophomores (Plan B and Virtual Academy) will take the PreACT on Wednesday, April 14, as part of North Carolina’s college readiness initiative. There is no need to pre-register or sign up. All 10th grade students take the PreACT for free. Buses will run as usual. Sophomores should be present on campus by 7:20 am. Any student with a valid driver's license can park in any available spot in the parking deck. If students have an ACT approved Graphing Calculator, they should bring it with them, though all math problems can be solved without a calculator. There will be a short break, so students may want to bring a water bottle and a small snack. Testing should conclude around 11:00. Students with a signed Early Release form will be dismissed at the end of the Testing Session; this form will be collected on test day. All others will be dismissed at 2:13 as usual. The Early Release form will be available on the school's website after Spring Break.

Parents, if you have not done so, please complete the survey sent to your email in reference to your child’s participation in the Virtual Academy or Plan A beginning April 8, 2021. The link can be found at the top of the school webpage. If you are not changing the student’s current participation plan, you do not need to do anything. The links close April 1, 2021.

Next week is Spring Break. Spring Break is March 29-April 2, 2021.

April 5th is a Calendar Out Day for teachers. Students do not report to school.

April 6-7 are Teacher Workdays. Students do not report to school.

April 8, all students report to school on Plan A or remain home in the Virtual Academy.

That is all for today! Have a Spring Break! Stay safe! GO COUGARS
