Is your student in danger of failing courses this semester? Parents and students should be aware that NC House Bill 769 states that the revocation of a student's driving permit or license will result if the student is unable to maintain adequate progress or drops out of school. Adequate progress is passing 70% of all courses enrolled. If students fail more than one course first semester, driver permits or licenses will be revoked by DMV. Students will not be able to get them back until the end of 2nd semester if they are passing 3 out of 4 classes at that time.

There will be a virtual Parent Night for 9th-11th grade students on Thursday November 12. Topics covered will include grade level information, career services, college preparation, military, NCAA, Career and College Promise, and mindfulness. The link to watch will be available on the Student Services website November 12 at 6pm; however, you can watch it any time after this date!

The senior vaccine deadline has been extended to December 30, 2020. Please email all immunizations, including the Meningococcal vaccine, to Mrs. Taylor at btaylor6@wcpss.net.

All students who are enrolled in AP courses this semester should log in to their AP portal online and select YES to exam if they plan to take the AP exam in May. This must be done by November 10 for fall AP classes or there will be a $40 late fee assessed. Exams are free this year, so please encourage your students to sign up before the deadline. Students will be responsible for the late fees.

Picture Make-up day for seniors is Wednesday, November 4th. Picture Make-Up Day for students in grades 9-11 is Thursday, November 5th.

High schools will not participate in off-campus lunch activities during Quarter 3. A team of high school administrators will review structures prior to Quarter 4.

There is no school Wednesday, November 11th. It is a holiday.

That’s all for today! Stay safe! Go COUGARS!!!
