WFHS Principal Update - Week of January 7th

Good evening WFHS Students and Families,

Our Annual Winter Arts Festival will be this Tuesday, January 9^th in the WFHS Auditorium. Please join our Performing Arts Department and our Fine Arts Department as our students and staff showcase their amazing talents.

Exam Information

Exams begin on Wednesday, January 17th and end on Tuesday, January 23rd. Our exam schedule is on our school website. Students should check with their teachers for exam locations.

Per State Legislation--Final exams MUST be the last five school days of the semester.   For the 2023-2024 school year, final exams will be January 17-23 (Fall Semester) and June 6-12 (Spring Semester). Students should plan on having exams on any/all of those dates.  Please plan appointments accordingly.  No Educational Leave requests will be approved for exam dates.

WFHS Intervention Coordinator is hosting a Saturday Session for 9th and 12th grade students failing core classes or graduation requirements. If your 9th/12th grade student is failing, they are welcome to attend the help session on 1/13 from 9-12 in the media center. There will be teachers in all core subject areas present to assist students if needed.

Blood Drive Information – HOSA is hosting a Blood Drive on January 28^th. Please consider donating. All the details can be found in the attached flyer.

From The Wake Forest Business Alliance and Career Services

The Wake Forest Business Alliance and Career Services is planning a Pathways to Success Career Event for students to attend on Thursday, February 15, 2024.  The purpose of this event is to allow students who are not pursuing a typical 4-year College/University degree to explore post-secondary options (two-year, certificate, career colleges, etc.), programs, volunteering, summer camps, internships, apprenticeships, and/or full-time employment after graduating high school.  If you represent an organization, post-secondary institution, or business and would like to share information with students, please register by January 29, 2024 using this link: https://forms.gle/HZkkAXrP27muGmim9 There is no cost and tables are provided.
