Good Afternoon Pleasant Plains Elementary Families,
Exciting progress is underway! Our school building remains on track for completion in June, and I am thrilled to share that furniture installation is expected in just a couple of weeks. The vision is quickly becoming a reality!
A few important reminders for our growing school community:
📅 Our inaugural PTA meeting is this Tuesday, May 28th at 6:00 PM at Hope Community Church Apex. We hope to see you there to help shape our school’s future!
🛍️ The school spirit store closes May 29th—don’t miss your chance to stock up on Cardinal gear!
🎉 Mark your calendars for our Community Picnic on Wednesday, June 25th at Pleasant Plains Community Park. Join us at the shelter near the playgrounds for fun, connection, and celebration!

Inaugural Pleasant Plains PTA Meeting this Wednesday
Date: May 28, 2025
Location: Hope Community Church, Apex Campus
Time: 6-7:30pm
The Wake PTA will facilitate the charter meeting for our new PTA. Proposed membership dues are $10; please bring cash or a check to join. Once we have members, we will vote on PTA leadership positions and approve the bylaws under the umbrella of the NC PTA. By the end of the meeting, we’ll officially have a PTA!
Save the Date: Community Picnic at Pleasant Plains Park
Wednesday, June 25 | 5:00–7:30 PM
Bring your own picnic and join us at the shelter by the playgrounds! “Ice Pops with the Principals” will be part of the fun and spirit wear will be available for pick-up!
Immunization and NC Health Assessment Reminder
All kindergarten students and students new to Wake County are required by the state to submit Immunization Records and the NC Health Assessment. These documents are due by the first day of school. Please be sure to submit them if you have not done so already.
School Spirit Store Closes Thursday!
Johnson & Lambe has set up a school spirit store for Pleasant Plains! Items will be available to order through May 29. Orders should be ready for pickup from 5:00 to 7:30 PM during our Community Picnic on June 25 at Pleasant Plains Park.

Both events will take place from 4:00-5:30 pm.
**A Parent and Guardian kindergarten orientation will also be held immediately following Meet the Teacher at 5:30pm on both July 2 and July 25.
Student School Supply Lists
Grade level teams are now working on supply lists, and they will be posted to our school website by June 1st.

Please direct all enrollment questions to your current school. If you have a rising Kindergarten student, please direct questions to the school where you registered. For any questions about transfers or assignment, please contact the WCPSS Office of Student Assignment. Registration: YMCA Before/After School
The Kraft Family YMCA is excited to offer Before and After School programs on-site at Pleasant Plains Elementary school. These programs include a wide range of activities, including arts and crafts, active games, plenty of outside time, character development, and positive role models.
