Advanced Learning Update

Families, your voices are requested by March 31st! Please consider taking 3 minutes to share your feedback regarding Academically and Intellectually Gifted Programming as well as Advanced Learning Opportunities for all students across the Wake County Public School System. The link below provides a brief overview and a few questions. Thank you for considering sharing your voice as we focus on providing and ensuring all students have advanced learning experiences and opportunities not only at Conn Magnet, but across the Wake County Public School System.

Single Subject Acceleration Parent Notice

 

Single Subject Acceleration is the practice of assigning a student to a higher-grade level than is typical, given the student's age, for the purpose of providing access to appropriately challenging learning opportunities in either Language Arts or Mathematics. The testing application window is March 17-28 and will be posted online on Ms. Hanley's AIG website. It will go live March 17. The testing window is April 11-25th. If you are considering this option for your child, plan to attend Ms. Hanley's information session on Friday, March 7th at 8:00 AM. The google link is meet.google.com/dha-odjd-mwy. 

 

 

Conn PTA Updates

 

Lunch Volunteer '25 Signup: Fill in for a teacher so they get a break during this time of teacher shortages! Shifts are only 30 min. Students need help opening their lunches, cleaning up, and filling their bellies! Volunteer with Ms. Weaver to put on this year's The Lion King. Volunteers are needed for rehearsals (Mar. 13 and 19) and performances (Mar. 26 and Mar. 27).

  • March 14th - School Day (Converted due to inclement weather event)

  • March 26 - “The Lion King” Family Performance (5:00pm - 6:30 pm)

  • March 28th - Quarter 3 Ends (Qtr 3 Report Cards sent home on April 16th)

  • March 31st - April 4th - Spring Break (No School)

  • April 7th thru April 11 - National Assistant Principal Appreciation Week

  • April 16th to 17th - 5th Grade Trip to DC

  • April 17th - 4th Grade Field Trip

  • April 21st thru April 25 - Administrative Assistant/Front Office Staff Appreciation Week (Ms. Manique Wright, Ms. Jenell Jones, Ms. Sarah Seward)

  • April 21st thru April 25 - Big Idea Week
