Ms. Chidester's Weekly Message: 9/4/20

Dear Conn Magnet Elementary School Families,

In the midst of the constant changes we are experiencing as a school family, we have responded resiliently and are now utilizing this opportunity to evolve how we teach and learn. Peter F. Drucker, a famous educator and author, once said, "the entrepreneur always searches for change, responds to it, and exploits it as an opportunity." I am so proud of our CONNmUNITY as we continue to exhibit such powerful growth mindsets with each passing day. Together, we are capable of the most magical educational moments. Thank you to all our families who work each day to support and encourage our students. We could not do this without you all!

Technology Support for Parents and Students: We encourage parents to visit wcpss.net/techguides for technology support. The resources on this site show students how to log in to their Wake IDs and student email, how to set up and use Chromebooks and Internet hotspots, how to connect to WiFi, how to use learning systems such as Google Classroom and Canvas, and much more. You can also find contact information for our help desk.

Supply Pick Up: It is very important that your student has the necessary materials for a successful remote learning experience. If you were not able to pick up supplies, please call the office at 919-856-7637 to make other arrangements.

Entrepreneurial Design: Now more than ever, we are all utilizing our IDEAS Design Cycle to problem solve and grow together. Our CONNtrepreneurs have the most incredible BIG IDEAS and we cannot wait to captivate them through our upcoming Virtual Idea Factory! Continue to check out our remote learning website as we will be adding virtual entrepreneurial makerspaces and challenges!

Chat with Chidester: Last week, I partnered with our PTA to hold our second "Chat with Chidester." During this virtual event, we worked to answer questions and address concerns from parents/guardians. Please click here to view Volume 2 of our monthly event.

 Sincerely,

Gabriel Chidester, Principal
