4.7.24 Update

Dear Families,

SOLAR ECLIPSE VIEWING AT ROGERS LANE

The 2024 Great North American Eclipse will happen on Monday, April 8, 2024. In North Carolina, the partial eclipse will begin around 1:58 p.m. and peak at approximately 3:15 p.m.

Last week, permission forms went home to families if they choose to have their child “opt” out. If you need another copy, the permission form can be found HERE. Families can also send a TalkingPoints message to their child’s teacher.

Wake County Public School student and employee safety is of the utmost importance during this experience. When watching a partial eclipse, students and employees must wear ISO certified eclipse glasses at all times.

Wake County Public schools policy (2-14 Threat/False Threat states that:

2-14 Threat/False Threat: Student shall not make any threat through written or verbal language, sign, or act which conveys a serious expression of intent to cause harm or violence. Furthermore, no student shall make a false threat of harm or violence, even jokingly, which causes or is reasonably likely to cause fear or a disruption to school activities.
