Principal Message, 5/26/24

 

Good Afternoon,

 

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. School will be closed tomorrow in observance of Memorial Day. We are grateful to all of our past and present service members, and we remember and honor those who have died in service to our country.

 

On Thursday, EOG testing will begin for our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. Please see the EOG test schedule below. We are so proud of all our students have accomplished this year!

Monday, May 27th is Memorial Day

Monday, May 27th is Memorial Day. School will be closed on this day.



2024-25 Bus Transportation 

If your child is currently a bus rider and/or if you are eligible for bus transportation, you should have received an email from our transportation department on Friday, May 17, regarding transportation for next year.  

 

If you are not currently registered for bus transportation but would like bus service next year, you must request bus transportation by Monday, July 15,  to ensure you have bus transportation on the first day of school. You can register for the bus by visiting the following link.  If you have any questions about bus transportation, please contact Mr. Clark at wlclark@wcpss.net or (919)-387-2150.

  • Thursday, May 30 - 3rd ELA & 5th Science

  • Friday, May 31  – 3rd & 5th Math 

  • Monday, June 3 – 3rd RtA Test (select students) & 4th Math

  • Tuesday, June 4-  4th & 5th ELA

  • Wednesday, June 5 & Thursday, June 6 - Make-Ups

 

Lunch Visits With Your Child

We always welcome families to come and join their children during lunch throughout the school year, but due to end-of-grade testing, we will pause having family visitors during the testing window (5/31–6/6). This means that families will not be permitted to join their students in the cafeteria for lunch. Families can begin joining as lunch visitors again on Friday, June 7.  

 

End of Year Important Dates:

  • May 30- EOG Testing Window Opens

  • June 4th- Fresh PTA Spirit Night from 5-9pm

  • June 7th- 5th Grade Picnic

  • June 10th- Field Day

  • June 11th- New! High School Senior March (3pm)

  • June 12th- Last Day of School & 5th Grade Moving Up Ceremony (11:30am)

    • Doors will open at 11:00am. Parents and visitors attending the ceremony will be required to sign in outside the gym (carpool side) via QR code and wear a visitor sticker.
