End of Quarter 3 & Report Cards
Friday, March 25th, marks the end of Quarter 3! Report Cards will be sent home on Friday, April 1st.
Teacher Workday- Monday, March 28th
Monday, March 28th is a teacher workday. Students will not attend school on this day.
Volunteers
We are looking forward to welcoming back parent visitors and volunteers in the coming weeks. Your student(s)’ teachers will reach out when they have a need for classroom volunteers, as well as when parent visitors will be invited to attend special events. In order to volunteer in classrooms or on field trips where you will supervise students directly, you will need to have your volunteer clearance through WCPSS. Please reach out to Ms. Andrade at aandrade@wcpss.net to find out if your clearance is current. Parents who will be visiting classrooms for showcases, presentations, or other similar events, do not need to have a current volunteer clearance.
In order to begin the volunteer clearance process, you will need to complete an online form on-site at a WCPSS location. A computer is available in the Apex Elementary School Media Center for your use Monday-Friday between 9:30am-3:00pm. You will need to sign in through the Main Office prior to going down to the Media Center.
Optional Mako Testing
In conjunction with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, WCPSS is providing OPTIONAL weekly COVID-19 testing on site at our school. In order for your student to participate in this free COVID-19 testing, you will need to register your student.
If you are interested in this OPTIONAL testing, please register your student with this link: Apex Elementary COVID-19 Testing Registration
How it Works: A parent or guardian must register any minor under 18 years old. When registering, Parents/Guardians will give a one-time consent and HIPAA authorization to share testing results with all necessary parties. All testing information is confidential and results will be available in hours. Raleigh-based MAKO Medical will administer an anterior nares nasal swab test that is quick and gentle. MAKO will be at Apex Elementary on Mondays from 1:30-2:30 beginning March 21st to conduct optional testing for those who are registered participants. To learn more about StrongSchoolsNC COVID-19 testing, visit www.MAKOstrongschoolsNC.com .
