Hello Pleasant Grove Families,
Here is an overview of school events for the week of December 5 - 9:

EARLY DISMISSAL – MONDAY, 1:45 PM
Monday, December 5 is an Early Dismissal Day. Students will still enjoy lunch and specials as usual. The school day will end at 1:45 PM. Please be present to pick your child up at the bus stop or carpool early on Monday.
PTA FAMILY DAY @ MOE’S – THURSDAY
Support Pleasant Grove by visiting the newest location of Moe’s Southwest Grill at 5419 Page Rd. in Churchill Commons anytime Thursday, December 8. Follow the details at this link to have 20% of your purchase support student programs for the PTA.
4th & 5th GRADE AIG NOMINATIONS
The Spring AIG Nomination Window is OPEN for 4th and 5th graders until January 9, 2023! Any nomination made now will be discussed at the School Based Committee for Gifted Education (SBCGE) meeting in mid-January. The testing window for referred students is January 23rd-February 6th, 2023.

SUPPORTING ACADEMIC SUCCESS

- Students in Grades 1 – 5 are encouraged to continue using Dreambox Math for practice each day. Students can access Dreambox through their WCPSS device.
LOST & FOUND:
Lost & Found is overflowing. This collection includes many jackets, hoodies, water bottles and items that students have left at school. Check Lost & Found if you have misplaced an item. Lost & Found is located in the school cafeteria. Items in Lost & Found will be cleared out when students leave for Winter Break.
HEALTH & WELLNESS:
If your child is not feeling well, or experiencing COVID-like symptoms, then they should stay home. Isolation requirements are listed online at wcpss.net/whentoreturn. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe and healthy! And be sure to send in a note to your child's teacher anytime after your child has missed school.

REMINDERS:
Visitors: All visitors should sign in at the Pleasant Grove front office and wear a visitors badge. Visits to classrooms and conferences with teachers should be scheduled in advance. If you would like to volunteer in your child’s classroom, please contact the teacher.
Birthday Parties: Pleasant Grove cannot accommodate requests for birthday parties at school. Adults should plan birthday parties, special treats, cake, cupcakes, and candies for their children at home or at a non-school location.
Bus Conduct: WCPSS will enforce a Code of Conduct for students who ride school bus transportation. Students who cannot follow the code of conduct will lose bus riding privileges.
Daily Bus Updates: Visit https://www.wcpss.net/Page/41148 . This link provides families with information if buses are delayed. It is updated every 15 minutes between 5:30 AM – 9:15 AM and 1:30 PM – 4:15 PM
2023-2024 ENROLLMENT:
Enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year has started. Find out more information about Kindergarten registration, magnet and year-round applications at this link
Pleasant Grove will host an Open House event for prospective families on January 11, from 9:45 AM – 11:00 AM.
School Tours: Families with children who will begin Kindergarten in August 2023 are encouraged to sign up for a school tour. Visit https://bit.ly/pgestour23 for details.
