PERSONAL ELECTRONIC DEVICES
We acknowledge that both cell phones and smart watches play a key role in communicating. However, we ask that if a student brings a cell phone to school, they leave the device in their book bag. Students should not access their devices during the instructional day.
In addition, many students enjoy wearing a smartwatch. Students are asked not to use their smartwatch as a communication device during the instructional day. Cell phones and smart watches are allowed only if turned off or put on Airplane mode in order to disable text messages and phone calls from being received by the device. This includes notifying or contacting parents throughout the day. Should a student need to contact their parent or guardian, the teacher can help facilitate this communication. In addition, we ask all parents not to communicate directly with their students during the instructional day. If you need information to be shared with a student, please contact the main office. Thank you for maximizing our students' instructional time within the classroom.
Please note: Board Policy 3225 Technology Responsible Use states: “Each principal may establish rules for his or her school site as to whether and how personal technology devices (including, but not limited to smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.) may be used on campus. The school system assumes no responsibility for personal technology devices brought to school. Students are expected to comply with the Code of Conduct and the applicable “Rules for Use of Technology Resources” outlined in this policy when students use a personal device on school property, at school-sponsored events, on school-based transportation, or anytime a personal device is connected to school system technology resources."
Currently, 78 families have completed the Panorama Family Survey! Our goal is to gain feedback from 150 families! Please complete the Panorama Family Survey. https://www.wcpss.net/Page/54475
We would also like to welcome our families to come to the media center on Tuesday (5/6) and Wednesday (5/7) to the media center to fill our the survey during our morning arrivals. Please get a visitor sticker from the main office, and our staff will have devices set up for you to complete the survey!
Helping students do their best in school requires a team effort. Parents, students, and schools all play important roles in this process. To help all of us learn how to make your child's schooling experience as positive and beneficial as possible, we need your feedback.
Please complete the Family survey starting tomorrow. The survey is available in various languages. Please click on the dropdown button at the top of the survey to change the language you feel most comfortable with. Thank you for your feedback and support!
Reminders:
Please do not cut in line, as it delays and disrupts structures in place inside the building and ultimately slows the line down. It is also a safety concern, and we want to ensure all students remain safe during our arrival and dismissal process.
Volunteering at Hunter:
Visit Volunteering in WCPSS to learn more about volunteer renewal or apply to be a first-time volunteer. Lunch with students: We encourage our families to join your students during their lunch block. However, we can not allow families to take students out of the cafeteria and eat outside. Thank you for your understanding of this specific safety protocol.
