Hunter Heritage

Our school’s annual spring carnival, Hunter Heritage, is coming up on Friday, April 25th from 5:00 - 8:00 PM! We will have bounce houses, obstacle courses, face painting, carnival games, a 360 photo booth, a glow party, and our annual grade level raffle baskets! We will also have yummy food trucks in the back bus loop.

All children must be under the supervision of an adult at the event. Please do not drop off children to attend without supervision. Parking is limited, but Martin Street Baptist Church has offered their parking lot for overflow parking. Please do not park in the lot or the gras next to Davie Street Park – the city has been able to grow grass there, and we don’t want to damage the area!

We need additional parent volunteers to help keep this event running! If you’d like to help with this fantastic event, please sign up here: https://signup.com/go/zxrVnGt

Hunter Heritage is free for all to attend, but we request that you pre-register to receive your admission wristband ahead of time. The pre-registration deadline is Tuesday at midnight. If you would like to donate to the event to help us keep it free for everyone, we would be so appreciative! Pre-register and donate here: https://hunter.givebacks.com/store/items/1175233

PERSONAL ELECTRONIC DEVICES

We acknowledge that both cell phones and smart watches play a key role in communicating. However, we ask that if a student brings a cell phone to school, they leave the device in their book bag. Students should not access their devices during the instructional day.

In addition, many students enjoy wearing a smartwatch. Students are asked not to use their smartwatch as a communication device during the instructional day. Cell phones and smart watches are allowed only if turned off or put on Airplane mode in order to disable text messages and phone calls from being received by the device. This includes notifying or contacting parents throughout the day. Should a student need to contact their parent or guardian, the teacher can help facilitate this communication. In addition, we ask all parents not to communicate directly with their students during the instructional day. If you need information to be shared with a student, please contact the main office. Thank you for maximizing our students' instructional time within the classroom.

Please note: Board Policy 3225 Technology Responsible Use states: “Each principal may establish rules for his or her school site as to whether and how personal technology devices (including, but not limited to smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.) may be used on campus. The school system assumes no responsibility for personal technology devices brought to school. Students are expected to comply with the Code of Conduct and the applicable “Rules for Use of Technology Resources” outlined in this policy when students use a personal device on school property, at school-sponsored events, on school-based transportation, or anytime a personal device is connected to school system technology resources."

Spring Pictures have been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 30th! Please note that given the date change, any classroom group purchases were canceled and refunded. You will need to go back in and re-order. This was for group orders only. If you paid online for Spring individual packages, no refunds were issued. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your flexibility!

😎 10 weeks until Summer Vacation! 😎 Now that we have your attention, we need your help, and the best part - it's super simple. Please complete the Panorama Family Survey. https://www.wcpss.net/Page/54475

Helping students do their best in school requires a team effort. Parents, students and schools all play important roles in this process. To help all of us learn how to make your child's schooling experience as positive and beneficial as possible, we need your feedback.

Please complete the Family survey starting tomorrow. The survey is available in various languages. Please click on the dropdown button at the top of the survey to change the language you feel most comfortable with. Thank you for your feedback and support!

Reminders:

Please do not cut in line, as it delays and disrupts structures in place inside the building and ultimately slows the line down. It is also a safety concern, and we want to ensure all students remain safe during our arrival and dismissal process.

3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Families - Community Event

The football program at Enloe will be having a youth football clinic on Saturday, June 14th for all rising 4th-8th graders. - Please see the following link for more information - Youth Football Clinic.pdf

Volunteering at Hunter:

Visit Volunteering in WCPSS to learn more about volunteer renewal or apply to be a first-time volunteer. Lunch with students: We encourage our families to join your students during their lunch block. However, we can not allow families to take students out of the cafeteria and eat outside. Thank you for your understanding of this specific safety protocol.
