Reminders: Our instructional day begins at 9:15 each day. We work hard to get students through the carpool in a timely and safe manner each morning. If you arrive after 9:15, we ask that you park your vehicle and come to the main office to sign your student in. In addition, our carpool ends at 4:15 each afternoon. If you arrive after 4:15, please come to the Main Office to sign your student out. Carpool Tags: When driving through the carpool loop, please leave your carpool tags hanging. This will help expedite the dismissal process each afternoon. If you need a new tag, please see the main office.

We also ask that all families join the back of the carpool line on Davie. Please do not cut in line, as it is a safety concern, and we want to ensure all students remain safe during our arrival and dismissal process.

Single Subject Acceleration (SSA)

The Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) Board of Education defines acceleration as allowing a student to move through traditional educational organizations rapidly, based on readiness and motivation. Single Subject Acceleration (SSA) is the practice of placing a student in a higher-grade level in one subject area. This type of acceleration is for the purpose of providing access to appropriately challenging learning opportunities in either Math or English Language Arts. Please view this Parent Orientation that was made by WCPSS Advanced Learning Services with more information about this acceleration opportunity. More information can also be found in this week's Monday folder. The SSA testing request window opens March 10th and closes March 28th. If you’d like to nominate your student, please complete the district nomination form at https://bit.ly/WCPSS-SSA.  The testing window will be April 11 - 25, 2025. If you have any questions, reach out to the SSA Coordinators, Brooke Dillon (bdillon@wcpss.net) and Kristin Hord (khord@wcpss.net).

The PTA Equity committee is launching an easy hand-me-down initiative for performance attire! We are seeking the following items, to be re-used by this year’s (and future years’) performers in orchestra, band, dance, theater, and chorus. We are also collecting outgrown/unused Hunter spirit wear for an upcoming spirit wear hand-me-down event!

  • White button-down shirts
  • Black long-sleeve shirts
  • Black pants/skirts/leggings
  • Black tank leotards
  • Chorus t-shirts
  • Hunter spirit wear

If you have any of these items, please plan to drop them off in the front office starting this week! The PTA and the performing arts teachers thank you!

📖 Yearbook 📖

Don't let this year's memories slip away! Yearbook ordering deadline is April 15th. Submit your order TODAY HERE! PTA is providing yearbooks for all 5th graders, so 5th grade families do not need to order!

Are you extra proud of your Hunter star? Want to give them a shout out in the yearbook? We have shorter and longer message options for you to choose from. You can even give a shout-out to a favorite teacher. Order Shout-Outs HERE! Deadline for submissions April 15th.

Remaining Photo Needs: Field Trip Group/Class Photos, Elective Photos, 4th/5th Grade Play and Track! Upload any of your best photos in our online portal HERE!

Volunteers:

The Hospitality Committee has a smoothie event for the teachers coming up and we need a few volunteers to help make their day go smoothie-ly. And, as always, K/1st Lunch Duty volunteers are appreciated. Find the Volunteer Hub HERE.
