Dear Barton Pond Families, 

It was a very close race -- in fact it came down to just two votes  -- We are officially the Barton Pond Bullfrogs!  Our official mascot is sitting proudly in his little pond in our logo.

To read more about the American Bullfrog, visit https://herpsofnc.org/american-bullfrog/. According to this site, bullfrogs are most frequently heard from April through August, so as your family starts to spend more time outside this spring, listen out for our bullfrog friends!

Barton Pond School Hours

During last week’s school board worksession, WCPSS staff proposed that Barton Pond follow a 9:15 AM - 3:45 PM instructional day. A request was made by a board member that the district consider a slightly earlier start time to account for situations where families may have students at two different elementary schools. The board is scheduled to vote on the official times during the March 15th board meeting.

It was wonderful to meet so many of you in our virtual information/input sessions last week. Included is a link to the presentation for those who may have missed it. PTA Planning

Playdates on the Playground

Mark your calendars for the following Playdates on the Playground!  These are come-as-you-can opportunities for families to get to know each other. Mrs. Costa will lead brief site tours, and additional staff will be invited to join as they come on board.  Should we run into inclement weather, we will move inside the gym.  

Playdates start at 5:00 PM. We will gather on the playground at the back of the school.  Recommended grade dates are below. Siblings are welcome. *Parents are responsible for the safety & supervision of their children. These are not drop-off events.
