Happy Sunday. I hope everyone is sharpening your saw, spending time doing the things that bring you the most joy.  We had a great time on Thursday at our student-led conference. Thank you for supporting our leaders.  If you have not had a chance to hear about your leader’s goals, contact your teacher to arrange a time to view your student’s leadership notebook.  As always, your feedback is important to us as we continue to plan events that support our home-school partnership.  Please take a few minutes to complete a brief survey.  This week we will have our career event. Our leaders are looking forward to hearing from a variety of professionals.  Friday is an early release day for us. We will dismiss students at 2:00.

EOG Information Night- April 25th 5:30-7:00

Come join us for an evening where we will talk about the importance of the EOG and allow families an opportunity to engage with sample passage questions. Teachers will be on hand to share content and test-taking strategies.  More information to come. The EOG testing window begins May 26th-June 2.

 

Kindergarten Orientation- May 2nd 5:30-7:00

Join us as we welcome the future graduating class of 2036.  Families will have an opportunity to learn more about Green and what to expect in Kindergarten.  The Kindergarten team will be on campus and our little leaders will have an opportunity to tour the school.  More information to come. 

Volunteers

Volunteers can now complete the volunteer approval process from home (previously this had to be completed on campus). Visit https://www.wcpss.net/volunteer for more information. All volunteers must complete criminal history checks prior to working with students. Thank you to all who have already registered and support our leaders as volunteers!

Single Subject Acceleration

The Single Subject Acceleration (SSA) test request window is open this week! If you would like to nominate your student for SSA, you can fill out the form linked below. For more information, you can check out the SSA slideshowinformation from our meeting and our parent FAQ in English and Spanish. Please read over all the sections of the form and make sure that this is the right fit for your student and family. SSA is a great opportunity, but it will affect their schedule for the following year, so consider your student's maturity along with their need for an intellectual challenge. 

      

You can request SSA testing for your student here. The form is also attached to our Green AIG website. The form will only accept submissions until this Friday. Testing will take place April 18th - May 3rd. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact Mrs. Seifert at gseifert@wcpss.net.

Gardens at Green

Spring is just around the corner and the gardens at Green are growing! This year, in addition to maintaining the pollinator gardens that were created last year, we will be expanding to include vegetables!  Volunteers will be needed to help with planting, weeding, watering, mulching, moving dirt, etc.  If you are interested in volunteering or joining the Garden Committee please complete the attached Google Form or contact Jennifer Yentel at jennyyentel@icloud.com for additional information.

 

Arrival and Departure Safety

There have been reports of unsafe practices with families dropping students off on Snelling, illegally parking along the road, or at adjacent businesses.   Please refrain from doing this by utilizing our carpool or parking in the back parking lot and walking your leader up to the front.  We have families living within the walk zone who walk and bike ride to school daily.  These practices make it unsafe for those families and our families who frequent the carpool as it creates extra back up at the light.  Please do what is right to ensure our leaders arrive and depart safely from campus.  Violations of these safety guidelines will be reported.

Familias Verdes,

 

Feliz domingo. Espero que todos estén afinando subió, gasto tiempo haciendo las cosas que te trae más alegría. Lo pasamos muy bien el jueves en nuestras conferencias dirigidas por estudiantes. Gracias por apoyar a nuestros líderes. Si no tuvo la oportunidad de escuchar acerca de las metas de su líder, comuníquese con su maestro para programar un ahora de ver el cuaderno de liderazgo de su estudiante. Como siempre, sus comentarios son importantes para nosotros mientras continuamos planeando eventos que apoyen nuestra asociación entre el hogar y la escuela. Tómese unos minutos para completar una breve encuesta. Esta semana tendremos nuestro evento de carrera. Nuestros líderes esperan escuchar de una variedad de profesionales. ¡La ventana de solicitud de prueba de Aceleración de materia única (SSA) está abierta esta semana! Si desea nominar a su estudiante para SSA, puede completar el formulario vinculado a continuación. Para obtener más información, puede consultar la presentación de diapositivas de la SSA de nuestra reunión y nuestras preguntas frecuentes de los padres en Inglés y Español. Lea todas las secciones del formulario y asegúrese de que sea adecuado para su estudiante y su familia. Jardines en Verde

¡La primavera está a la vuelta de la esquina y los jardines de Green están creciendo! ¡Este año, además de mantener los jardines de polinizadores que se crearon el año pasado, nos expandimos para incluir vegetales! Se necesitarán voluntarios para ayudar a plantar, quitar las malas hierbas, regar, cubrir con mantillo, remover la tierra, etc. Si está interesado en ser voluntario o unirse al Comité del jardín, complete el formulario adjunto.Formulario de Google o comuníquese con Jennifer Yentel al jennyyentel@icloud.com para información adicional.

 

Seguridad de llegada y salida

Ha habido informes de prácticas inseguras con familias que dejan a los estudiantes en Snelling, estacionan ilegalmente a lo largo de la carretera o en negocios adyacentes. Abstenerse de hacer esto utilizando nuestro vehículo compartido o estacionados en el estacionamiento trasero y caminando con su líder hacia el frente. Tenemos familias que viven dentro de la zona para caminar que caminan y van en bicicleta a la escuela todos los días. Estas prácticas hacen que sea inseguro para aquellas familias y nuestras familias que frecuentan el viaje compartido, ya que crea una copia de seguridad adicional en el semáforo. Haga lo correcto para asegurarse de que nuestros líderes lleguen y salgan seguros del campus. Las violaciones de estas pautas de seguridad serán reportadas.
