Curriculum Night - Tuesday, September 20
We are excited to welcome you into the school on the evening of September 20. You will visit your child’s classroom and learn about what they are learning for the year. You’ll hear about classroom procedures, daily schedules, and more! Teachers will provide two identical sessions to allow you to choose what best fits your schedule and to allow for parents with multiple children.
5:30-6:00: Session 1
6:10: PTA General Meeting in the Cafeteria
6:30-7:00: Session 2
Parking will be available at both the high school and middle school. We hope you can join us!
Please send in your paper towel rolls, toilet paper rolls, plastic bottles, and lids/caps. These will come in handy for our Art and STEM classes.
The office is in need of extra clothing for students who need a change of clothes throughout the day. We need clean/gently used shorts, pants, shirts, and socks.
Arrival and Dismissal Reminders
YMCA parents drop off in the carpool loop before school. Please make sure you park off to the side if you arrive early.
We have many families walking to school. Please be mindful of others as you head to and from campus. As a reminder, dogs are not permitted on the Apex Friendship ES Campus.
Positivity Project Parent Connection
Next week our school community will be focusing on the character strength of Curiosity. Curiosity means you like exploration and discovery. You ask lots of questions because you want to learn more about anything and everything.
To practice and encourage the character strength of curiosity with your child, please visit the Positivity Project’s P2 for Families (password: P2) where together you will watch a video, read a quote and talk about the answers to three questions.
The PTA would like to thank everyone who came out to Fresh Local Ice Cream last night. We are so appreciative of your support and are looking forward to a fantastic year! Watch for another Spirit Night next month!
Reflections Arts Program
It’s almost time for the 2022-2023 Reflections Arts Program to commence! This year’s theme is “Show Your Voice". The AFES PTA is proud to participate in this amazing program, which increases community awareness of the importance of arts in education nationwide. Students will be required to submit their completed works of art no later than October 28, 2022, in one of the following categories: Dance, Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, or Visual Arts.
Stay tuned for more details coming soon! Visit North Carolina PTA Reflections Program for more detailed program information.
Back to School Bash
Bring a picnic dinner and join your fellow Shooting Stars on the 3-5 playground and field to celebrate the start of the school year on Tuesday, September 27. Kona Ice will be on site for purchase and the AFHS Cheerleaders will make an appearance. We will also be collecting canned food donations as the first project of our AFES Gives Back program. Check your student's Friday Folder for more information!
