The Apex Friendship Elementary School PTA is official! Thank you to everyone who came out last week for the meeting to establish our PTA and elect officers. Our PTA officers for the upcoming school year are:

Free/Reduced Price Meal Information
WCPSS needs you to complete a 2022-2023 meal benefits application for next year. If you have not completed a free or reduced-price meal application and think your child may be eligible, pick up an application at your child’s school or apply online. Paper applications can also be requested by calling 919-588-3535 or 919-856-2920 or emailing cnsmealbenefits@wcpss.net.

School Supply Lists
Grade level lists are now available at https://www.wcpss.net/domain/19923
PreK teachers will provide a wish list, but all items will be provided to students.
Students enrolled in EBS should use the supply list according to their grade level.
Kindergarten Information
Kindergarten students will begin school on a staggered entry schedule. This means that they will attend only one day of school from 10:00am to 2:30pm on either August 29, 30, 31, or September 1. Parents will need to provide transportation to and from school. This practice is extremely valuable to both teachers and students. Students will be at school in small numbers to allow them to get to know the building and the Kindergarten teachers. Teachers will be able to do some assessments and create balanced classes while getting to know the students. The first full day of school for all Kindergarten students is Tuesday, September 6.

Save the Date for Open Houses
Friday, August 26 will be an exciting day in the life of our new school community.
This event will be for all 1st to 5th graders and their parents. Times are TBD. Friday, September 2nd will be the Open House for all Kindergarten Students and parents from 10am to 12noon.
When will I know who my child’s teacher is?
All parents of first through fifth grade students will receive an email from their child’s teacher on the morning of Friday, August 26. All parents of Kindergarten students will receive an email from their child’s teacher on the morning of Friday, September 2, 2022.
Before/After School
The Kraft Family YMCA is excited to offer Before and After School programs on-site at Apex Friendship Elementary school. The school programs include a wide range of activities including arts and crafts, active games, plenty of outside time, character development, and positive role models. Registration for Before and After School can be completed at www.YMCATriangle.org beginning soon. Parents will have the option to register for the whole year or by individual weeks (dependent on availability). Applications for financial assistance are available HERE. Question?
