Family Message 10/20/24
Dear Families,
We had a great first week back! As we started the new quarter, we reintroduced several schoolwide expectations and procedures. Our students did a nice job of reacclimating themselves to our Red Wolves expectations. You are welcome to view HERE the video that all students watched this week. We thank you for your support to reinforce these expectations with your students.
Picture Day
Our Fall Picture Day takes place on October 23. As students take their pictures against a green background, please make sure they do not wear green as it will impact their photo.
Family Workshops
WCPSS is offering three family workshops this month on the following topics: Identifying and protecting your child against bullying, keeping kids safe online, and communicating with your kids. See the linked flyers for details.
8th Grade Updates
Families are encouraged to attend the Early College and Magnet Fair on October 26th from 9 am - 12 pm at Enloe High School. Information can be found here: https://www.wcpss.net/MAGNET. Mrs. Winters will begin individual meetings with 8th grade students this week who express interest in applying to an Early College and/or Magnet High School. Students can schedule an appointment by speaking with her or emailing her at bwinters@wcpss.net.
Bus Code of Conduct
During track out, our school administration met with key stakeholders in the WCPSS Transportation department to review the Bus Code of Conduct. We ask kindly that you review the Bus Code of Conduct with your students. It is imperative that our students understand that riding the bus is a privilege. Thank you for your support with this matter if your student(s) ride the bus.
Dillard Drive MS Basketball
Those students who are interested in trying out for the boys’ basketball team at Dillard Drive MS this winter should review the information provided HERE. These students should also plan to attend an information session with Coach Stafford on October 30 at 7:30am during our Advisory block. We have not yet received information about the girls’ basketball season.
