Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School Engineering & IT Academy

Southeast Raleigh High School’s Engineering & IT Academy offers students two different course pathways to follow through high school to earn a NAFTrack Certification from the National Academy Foundation. Students take one course each year in the academy subject and are grouped with other academy students in a core class. This allows for a cross-curricular project each year. Students also participate in career exploration activities, job shadowing and a 120-hour internship before graduating from the academy. The program has a 100% graduation rate. Most students choose to attend college, but some take their skills directly into the workforce. For more information, please contact Margaret Esselborn at messelborn@wcpss.net. The program accepts 50 rising freshmen each year. Your student can apply to join the academy here.

BIMAS Screener

In our continuing efforts to support the well-being of all our students, we will be administering a universal screener of social, emotional & behavioral health (BIMAS) the week of September 23rd (staff will complete the screener on September 30). This will not require your child to do anything, your child’s teacher will complete this screener. This information helps us to understand the needs of all our students and how we can best serve and support them. A letter with more information, as well as an "opt-out" option was sent home with your child. If you would like more information, please visit our website at www.wcpss.net/universalscreener or contact Jess Maskulka, School Counselor at (919) 233-4217.
