Principal's Weekly Message 8-28
Hello this is Kathryn Hutchinson, principal at Centennial Campus Magnet Middle School with your weekly message. This message can be found on our website. Our Learning Snapshot is now posted for this next week.
As we gear up for clubs, please be respectful of the pickup time. Our teachers often offer clubs because they want to create a fun space for students to connect afterschool with peers. But we want to respect our teachers’ valuable time as well and have all members of the club picked up at the designated time. Be sure to confirm with your student what time the club is over or check out the club page on our website.
Please note that this next Friday will be the final interims for this quarter. Please review your child’s grades and any comments or notes together with your student. These grades also will be updated on Powerschools which can be accessed at any time.
Also on Friday, our students have another Early Release. Please note that school will dismiss at 12:15 on Friday the 2nd of September. All carpool students must be picked up before 12:30 in order for staff to begin their professional development for the day.
Looking ahead on the other side of next weekend, school will be closed for Labor Day on Monday, September 5th. No school for students on that Monday.
On Thursday, September 8th, our core teachers will be hosting a Curriculum Night beginning at 5:30. This will be an opportunity to hear more about how and what our students will be learning this year. Remember that you can always view the upcoming week’s learning targets on our Learning Snapshot as well. We look forward to having our families back together that evening of the 8th.
And finally, one other date to go ahead and mark on your calendar is September 15th. Our Centennial Campus Scavenger Hunt is coming back that evening. We are excited to welcome this fun event back. Our families and students will participate in a Goose Chase beginning up at the Hunt Library on Centennial Campus. This is a great opportunity for you and your student to connect with other families and see this larger NC State campus that our school partners with.
As shared in our Open House, we are a Title 1 school. For every student that turns in the free and reduced lunch application and qualifies, the school received federal funds that benefit the students and teachers at the school. These funds are used for materials and supplies as well as staffing. If you have not completed an application yet, please consider doing so. And if you want further information about our Title 1 programming at Centennial Campus, please visit our website.
Thank you for your support of Centennial Campus Magnet where we H.O.W.L. with Red Wolf Pride. Have a great week!
