Principal's Weekly Message 8-7

Hello this is Kathryn Hutchinson, principal at Centennial Campus Magnet Middle School with your weekly message. This message can be found on our website.

Our afternoon carpool is to the point in moving along that we are able to complete the process prior to 2:30. Please plan to be in the carpool lanes prior to this time to pick up your students. We appreciate your patience as everyone has been learning the procedures.

We are looking forward to our open house this Thursday evening. This event has a schedule and plan to begin with us from the start. It is NOT a drop by event. Our PTSA will begin in the gym at 5:15 for the first general meeting of the year. We want to invite everyone to attend and hear about the opportunities that we hope to share this year.

We will then begin our school welcome at 5:45 in the gym. Introductions will be made and an overview of the evening provided there. From the gym, we will dismiss to your child’s grade level to meet. Each grade level will hold activities of introduction. This event is built for the adults in your student’s life. It is not necessary for your child to attend.

This next Friday is our first interim report time. These reports are provided twice during the quarter. Students should take the time to sit with you to share how they are doing. We ask that you look to ensure all work is completed and there is nothing missing. You can also always access your child’s grades with notes in Powerschools. If you do not have access to Powerschools, please stop by the office to sign up.

Thank you to everyone that helped gather treats for teachers this past week. If you forgot to drop off these treats, please stop by the office. The PTSA will still take the donations. If you haven’t joined the PTSA yet, your membership is also very important and be sure to join at this link.  Special incentives are happening now if you join before Open House. These include winning tickets to the Durham Bulls and tickets to the Life and Science Museum

And looking farther ahead, please mark your calendar for Friday, August 19th. That day is a teacher workday. No school for students on August 19th.

Thank you for your support of Centennial Campus Magnet where we H.O.W.L. with Red Wolf Pride. Have a great week!
