Principal's Weekly Message 7-24

Hello this is Kathryn Hutchinson, principal at Centennial Campus Magnet Middle School with your weekly message. This message can be found on our website.

We look forward to welcoming our community back tomorrow, Monday, July 25th. Remember that no student should be dropped off before 7:05. Carpool, please wait until Centennial Campus staff have helped indicate students may exit. Students should only unload after the cross walk. Please review the maps for carpool by following this link. We also ask that cars move through our parking lot safely and adhere to the traffic patterns.

Arrival begins at 7:05 until learning begins at 7:30. Students will be directed to their homeroom classes to begin the day.

All bus routes are posted on the transportation link at WCPSS. Please be mindful to be present before the time of arrival and be patient that routes can run slower these first days of school.

Dismissal begins at 2:15 and all students riding carpool should be picked up by 2:30. Please be patient with our students as they learn the routines and structures of dismissal. They may only get into their cars after the vehicle has passed the cross walk. Students will be directed down towards the flagpole to be able to get into their vehicles quicker. Please be sure to pull all the way up so that we can fill more cars at one time.

Please note that we are working to support our students in strong learning and that includes having students keep their cell phones put away to not to distract. This focus and expectation will be discussed in classrooms. But your support will be critical with this. Students will have lockers to keep their phones if they struggle in keeping them put away in their backpacks. Thank you for your support in this matter. Different grade levels will be setting students up with lockers at different points these first weeks.

If you did not pick up a Rainbow Packet this past Friday, your student will be bringing this paperwork home this week. Please be sure to complete all information and return the forms to school as quickly as possible. It is important that we have your most updated contact information and emergency contacts.

Also, please be sure to complete a lunch form and have your child return it as quickly as possible. It is possible to also complete this form online as well.

Families, please be mindful when coming to our school, we ask that you have your ID ready to show when ringing our doorbell. We look forward to partnering with you as always for the safety of our school.

We are very excited to partner with our PTSA again this year to support our school community. This very important organization supports our teachers and works to provide opportunities for our students such as Cultural Arts events and School dances. Your support is important. First, please join this group. Opportunity to join can be found at this link.  Special incentives are happening now if you join before Open House. Second, they are collecting for the first Treat Cart drive. These treats are for teachers that the PTSA delivers through the first quarter. Please sign up to help this fun event. Drop off for items will be August 4th and 5th through morning carpool and arrival.

Looking ahead, please note that this Thursday the 28th, is an early release day. Students will be dismissed at 12:15. All students should be picked up by 12:30.

Please save the dates for our Open House event on August 11th. The PTSA general meeting will begin at 5:15 and our Open House welcome begins around 5:45 in the gym and runs through 7:30.

Thank you for your attention in this communication. As you know, there is a lot of information at the start of the year. And I am grateful for your time in reviewing it all. Please be reminded again that this information can be found on the Principal Message link on our website along the red bar. Previous messages can also be found there.
