It was another great week to be a Tree Frog! I loved seeing families at Turner Creek today supporting with our in-house Kindergarten field trip. The kids had a blast and I know our teachers appreciated the help.
Monday is Walk and Roll to School day. I hope to see students and families getting some exercise before the school day begins. See below for details.
A huge thank you to Apex Friendship High School for hosting a canned food drive for our Treefrog food pantry! We are trying to collect food to send over Thanksgiving and Winter Break. If you would like to donate, you can find our current needs here.
Please remember that while Monday is Halloween, students should not wear costumes to school or bring candy. We hope families have a wonderful time celebrating at home in their own ways, but please keep in mind that tomorrow and Tuesday are both instructional days.
I hope students will participate in our School Spirit Week next week. October 31 -November 4 Spirit Week. We hope you will join us the week of October 31 in our next Spirit Week.

This month our school community will be focusing on the Other People Mindset of Supporting Others When They Struggle. This means when other people are struggling, we do our best to help them out.
Supporting other people when they struggle is a critical piece of being human. There are many different approaches to helping people who are struggling. These can include: listening while they describe an event and their feelings about it, taking action to help people in need, or simply just being there and sitting together in silence. Everyone faces tough days and needs support, and this support leads to a chain of prosocial behavior that makes us feel good about ourselves and our group.
To practice and encourage the character strength of perspective with your child, please visit the Positivity Project’s P2 for Families (password: P2), where together you will watch a video, read a quote, and talk about the answers to three questions.
