Weekly Message

Hello Lincoln Heights Families.

We are all counting down with excitement the return of our cohort 1 students in just one week!  The staff continues to prepare our building for the safe return of our students.  Carpool and bus procedures will be shared by Friday so families will be aware of what to expect the first time they return to campus.

On Friday, all WCPSS parents received an email regarding Student Accountability and Required Health Protocols.  Please read through the document carefully including all hyperlinks.  At the bottom of the email there is a link to a signature page that is required to be kept on file at school that acknowledges you have received and understand the expectations outlined in the WCPSS "Student Accountability and Required Health Protocols".  For those of you that picked up materials on Friday, we included a printed copy of the form in the materials packet.  You may email the signed form to your child's teacher or fax the signed form to the school (919-694-8627).  For those cohort 1 families that need a printed form, there will be some available on the library book pickup cart next week.  The signed form is due by Friday, 10/23/2020.  As you read through the information, please note that all students, regardless of setting, are required to wear a face covering per WCPSS district policy.

WCPSS Technology Guidance for Return to Campus:  Upon returning to in-person learning, our schools will have limited technology available to students on campus as most devices have been checked out to students for remote learning. While in school, students with a WCPSS device should plan to bring their device (and charger) to and from school. While at home, students will continue to work remotely using their personal devices or the devices provided by WCPSS.

A few families have inquired about on-site before and after school care as students prepare to return to school.  At this time, LHECMES is not offering this program during the first semester.  In December there will be an opportunity for parents to express their interest in the program for the second semester.

Don't forget to join the PTA!

I look forward to a great week ahead and appreciate your support as we GROW TOGETHER and reach #newHEIGHTS

Sincerely,

Kim Grant, Principal
