WEEKLY MESSAGE

Hello Lincoln Heights Families.

I hope each of you took time to enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend.  It’s been amazing!

I’m sure everyone is aware of the Governor’s statement during his press conference last Thursday giving N.C. counties the opportunity to return to school as early as Oct. 5th.  The WCPSS School Board will meet this Tuesday to determine how WCPSS will address our return to school.  To gain parental input, WCPSS launched a district-wide parent survey on Friday that you should have received via email.  Parents should respond to the survey by tomorrow, Monday, Sept. 21, at 5 p.m.   I hope you will take a moment to provide input to the school system.

A few quick announcements:

iStation Assessment Update:  Students in Kindergarten-fourth grade will be taking their beginning of the year iStation benchmark assessment this week (Sept. 21-25).  Students will take the assessment during live instruction with their teacher.  This is a state-mandated assessment that will provide your child's teacher with data to plan instruction. Please allow your child to take this assessment without assistance in order to guarantee accurate data. If your child DOES NOT have a Wake County Chromebook, please watch the following video for directions on how to download the iStation program to your personal device.
Downloading iStation- English

Downloading iStation- Spanish

You will receive further communication from your child's teacher regarding the plan for testing.

Kindergarten Parents:  September 30 is the deadline to submit kindergarten health assessments and immunizations.  Please submit that information to our Data Manager.
