Hello Lincoln Heights Families!

 

We had two incredibly busy workdays last week and I’m thrilled to say we are ready to get started!  The staff is so excited to launch the 2020-2021 school year and welcome your sweet children to school.  By now each family should have heard from their child’s homeroom teacher and a virtual Getting to Know You session should be scheduled for Monday or Tuesday.  If you have not yet heard from anyone, please let me know.  One issue we ran into last week was incorrect contact numbers in PowerSchool.  If you have already completed the paperwork to access PowerSchool you can use the links below to update your information.  If you have not completed the form to gain access to PowerSchool, a form will be sent home in all student bags when you pick up materials on your assigned day below.  You can complete the form and return it to school.  Then you will be able to use the links below to keep your contact information up to date.  Make sure you did not block our school emails.  If you did you will miss out on important information all year!

Materials for virtual/remote learning will be distributed following the schedule below.  For families with siblings in different grades, you may pick up during either of the sessions that correspond to your children’s grade levels.  We have a list of siblings to work from to speed up the process.  Please note the pick-up locations in the chart.

WCPSS identified the first two weeks of school as orientation weeks.  That gives us a chance to start small and build-up to the full schedule starting week 3 on August 31st.  This Monday and Tuesday teachers will hold their Getting to Know You sessions.  On Wednesday starting at 8:30 a.m. live teacher sessions will begin and each child should be logged on, ready to learn.  Wednesday-Friday will be shorter sessions and your individual teachers will share the schedule with you.  Also, there will be technology help sessions available, opportunities to meet the Extension Teachers (art, music, PE, Environmental Inquiry), and engage with our Special Education/CCR teachers, our ESL (English as a Second Language Teacher) and our AIG (Academically/Intellectually Gifted) Teacher.   

A message from Mrs. Bobay, our Library/Media Coordinator:  On designated material pick-up days, please return any school library books from last school year.  Notices of books checked out by your student will be emailed on Monday evening.  If your student completed the Summer Reading Double Challenge, you can return that paper as well. Please contact Mrs. Bobay, our school librarian at pbobay@wcpss.net with any concerns or questions.  Details about school library access from home will be coming soon!
