Hello Lincoln Heights Families!
Last week was THE BEST! It was so wonderful to see our student’s sweet faces during the materials pick-up sessions. We have about 30 materials bags remaining. If you did not come by last week, please stop by Monday or Tuesday and ring the front bell. We will bring the bag out to you.
Another success from last week was that almost all of the students were able to log-in to meet their teachers and classmates. Thank you to all the parents that supported this process. Please remember that students must be logging in, completing assignments, or having contact of some kind with your teacher every day in order to be marked as attended. I understand many of you are still waiting for a device but continue to make some type of contact with the teacher in the interim. Students that received a device in the spring and have a device signed out to you should be present for instruction each day.
- Device Distribution-Lincoln Heights is not part of WCPSS device distribution. Device deployment is handled by WCPSS Technology Services and we have no control of when the requested devices will be available. My understanding is that you will receive notification of pickup three days prior to your assigned pickup date. At that time, you will be given the list of regional pickup locations. Again, our school is not a location for device pickup. Click here to see the lastest WCPSS information regarding device distribution.
- Online Classroom Etiquette-This quick video gives reminders to help our K-5 students be prepared for virtual/remote learning. It would be a great help if students were ready to learn just as if they were coming to school – dressed with breakfast already eaten and materials nearby.
This week students will continue to meet our Extension Teachers (art, music, PE, Environmental Inquiry), and engage with our Special Education/CCR teachers, our ESL (English as a Second Language Teacher) and our AIG (Academically/Intellectually Gifted) Teacher. By Friday all connections/introductions should have been made.
Mr. Gaitan and I enjoyed our Chat with the Principal’s last Wednesday. We appreciate all the families that logged on and engaged with us. We plan to host another one in September.
I look forward to a great week ahead and appreciate your support as we GROW TOGETHER and reach #newHEIGHTS
