Moore Square Students Participate in Moore Square Park Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
On Friday, August 2, 2019 some members of the Moore Square Magnet Middle School National Junior Society (NJHS) were on hand for Raleigh's grand reopening ceremonies of Moore Square Park located diagonally across from the school. Prior to the ceremony NJHS students greeted visitors at the four corner entrances to the park, offering information and distributing handouts about the weekend-long celebration events. At 10:00 am the NJHS contingent attended the ceremony and two students were invited to stand with other Raleigh officials for the ribbon-cutting and official reopening.
On the cold and rainy morning of November 9, 2017 Moore Square students also participated in the ground-breaking ceremony for the $13 million park renovation project, and we have anxiously awaited the park's reopening as it will be a great resource for outdoor learning events...and a beautiful shortcut for our numerous downtown walking field trips.
As the park and our school share the same name, we are excited and honored to participate in the celebrations of one of downtown Raleigh's historic landmarks!
