On Friday, August 17, the entire Moore Square staff was invited to a brunch hosted by the Hospitality and Finance elective class. During this elective students completed their NC Food Handlers Certification, a food safety program and then prepared the food, created invitations and food labels, and were responsible for knowing all the ingredients to assist brunch guests who may have special diets. The menu included southwest and garden vegetable frittatas, blueberry and cranberry oatmeal packets, apple French toast, fruit and yogurt parfaits, pomegranate fruit caviar, juice, coffee, and tea. Ms. Kicklighter, Family and Consumer Sciences teacher, stated that one objective of this collaborative project was for students to make their guests feel "welcome, comfortable, and happy." Many administrators, teachers, and staff attended the to show their support and enjoy the food, atmosphere, and fellowship with the students.
