Dance Ensemble Performs at WCPSS Summer Leadership Conference

On August 1, 2018, just 8 days into the new modified calendar school year, the Moore Square Dance Ensemble, led by dance teacher Nicole Duncan, performed before a crowd of all Wake County Public School System school administrators and central office staff at the WCPSS 2018 Summer Leadership Conference held at the NCSU McKimmon Center in Raleigh. The team of nine eighth grade students performed a modern piece to the music "Hallelujah," the same piece used at their Pieces of Gold performance in March 2018 comprised of 16 dancers. In less than two weeks, this group of nine collaborated and reconstructed the dance to fit the smaller team. Moore Square principal, Dr. Jacqueline Jordan, who attended the conference stated, "The girls were amazing and leaders in the audience were audibly struck by their talent! We were all swollen with pride." The Moore Square Dance Ensemble received a Certificate of Appreciation for their participation at the Summer Leadership Conference.
