Moore Square Arts Boosters

The Moore Square Visual Art and Performing Art Departments are thriving and growing. We have seen a significant increase of students enrolled in the Arts Programs. Our Arts programming has been generously supported by the Magnet Grant which ended December 2017. It is now the responsibility of Moore Square to fund our Visual and Performing Arts programs.

Moore Square has an active PTSA organization, however PTSA can only finance a small part of what is needed to support a vibrant and rigorous course of study in the Arts.

How can our school community support the Arts programs at Moore Square Magnet Middle School? Our hope is to form an active booster organization, Moore Square Arts Boosters. Parent interest/start up meeting will be held on Tuesday April 10, 2018 at 6:00 pm in the Moore Square Media Center.

The purpose of the Moore Square Arts Boosters will be to develop support and raise funds to support the Arts program. Financial support would fund visual art supplies such as, paper, paint, registration fees for art competitions, artists in residence, etc. Arts boosters will support our dance program by purchasing costumes, editing of music, dancers/choreographers in residence, professional organization dues, and fees associated with professional conferences, etc. Funding of theatre arts includes the buying of scripts/musicals and associated copyright fees, costumes, lighting, set building materials, props, for both our classes and thriving after school theatre program. Financial support needed by band, choral and orchestra programs includes purchasing music, MPA fees, All District entrance fees, All State entrance fees, artist in residence, guest clinicians, professional organization fees, purchasing/maintenance of instruments, etc.

Thank you for helping us enhance, promote, and encourage the Arts for every member of the Moore Square Magnet Middle School family
