Future Business Leaders Win Competition

On Saturday, January 13, 2018 eight members of the Moore Square Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) traveled to Fike High School in Wilson, NC to compete in the FBLA Regional Competitive Events Conference (RCEC). Sophia Van Vickle and Sofia Young were both finalists in the Recognition Test competition, which means that the Moore Square team moves forward to the NC FBLA State Leadership Conference competition March 19-21, 2018 at Koury Convention Center in Greensboro, NC. Their teammates will be allowed to compete in categories that were not offered at the regional level. Ms. Tiffany Sommerville, Career and Technical Education Teacher and FBLA club sponsor reported that competing at the RCEC event was a wonderful opportunity for the students. In addition to competitive events, students also got to participate in some valuable workshops of their choice such as  budgeting, leadership in action, etiquette, and college preparedness.

Many thanks to the Moore Square PTSA for covering the students' registration fee the for this event and to the parents who provided transportation to and from the event and much support. Parents attending were Mrs. Bentley, Mr. & Mrs. Harrington, and Mr. & Mrs. Young. Huge thanks to Moore Square FBLA sponsors Ms. Kicklighter and Ms. Somerville who coordinated and attended this event!

Students participating were:

Morgan Bentley, Nick Florence, Allyson Harrington, Madison Mason Nehemiah Thompson, Sophia Van Vickle, Travun Yarborough, and Sofia Young.
