Career Day 2017--A Big Success
On Friday, October 20, 2017 the Moore Square Magnet Middle School gym was transformed into a tradeshow-like atmosphere as representatives from 29 different professions generously offered their entire morning talking about their careers to middle schoolers. Our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students browsed the tables, many dressed in professional attire, to listen, ask questions, and examine artifacts to learn about opportunities that might await their futures. Many students participated in mock interviews conducted by additional business volunteers affording students the opportunity to practice people skills and experience a job interview setting. Moore Square's Career Development Coordinator, Mary-Kathryn Connor has been planning this event for months and with the assistance of Meredith College student intern, Erica Buck, and the Moore Square staff, this second annual Career Day event was a big success!
Our very sincere thanks to the participating businesses and volunteers listed below for making the Moore Square Career Day 2017 an exceptional learning experience for our students!
