Did you know? If your student goes by a middle name, abbreviated name, or preferred name, you can use the form below to have that name entered into the name list for the PowerSchool database. The preferred name can be used for class lists, yearbooks, etc. Legal names are used for diplomas, report cards, and other legal documents. Completed request forms may be submitted via email to Leslie Taylor, Principal, at ltaylor2@wcpss.net or may be dropped off at the main office to Ms. Taylor’s attention at any time during the year; HOWEVER, the deadline for yearbook entry information is Friday, December 15th. Important Reminders from the WCPSS Magnet Office:

Students in 5th and 8th grade who would like to continue in a magnet school at the next level MUST apply. Apply at wcpss.schoolmint.com. The deadline is January 25.

Students may apply to any magnet school that is an option for their address (review at wcpss.net/eligible)

ENTRY Grade siblings - those rising into grades K, 6 or 9 - MUST apply and will be assigned with an older sibling who will still be assigned to that magnet school for the 24-25 school year.

8th Graders: The due date for the Early College applications is Thursday, December 14th. The Magnet High School due date is January 25th. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Estes at jestes2@wcpss.net or 919-664-5737 x 26648.

Human Trafficking: Eighth graders who are in 2nd Quarter Healthful Living will participate in a lesson on Human Trafficking on Thursday, December 14th. NC Senate Bill 279 mandates that all students in grades 7-9 receive instruction concerning trafficking prevention and awareness and all WCPSS students in grades 7-9 will participate in a lesson. If you wish for your student not to receive this information, please contact Mrs. Estes at 919-664-5737 ext. 26648 or email jestes2@wcpss.net.

REPEAT: Send greetings and gifts to M2 teachers and staff. Contribute to this year's Holiday Gift Crowd - https://app.giftcrowd.com/app/join-event/fC-9QepJRk. Choose the teachers/staff to donate any amount to by Dec. 14 at midnight. The receiver will then be alerted to the amount they have received collectively and choose a gift card(s). It's a great way to gift our staff and easy too!
