Weekly Update 9/1/23

  • Athletics at Ligon: We have just been informed that there will be a bus available to transport our students from Moore Square to Ligon Middle School for sports tryouts. Contact Coach Scheck if you need more information at nscheck@wcpss.net or (919) 664-5737 ext. 26633.

 

  • Garden Club: The first meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 5th from 2:30-3:45pm and the application can be found here. For a complete list of after-school activities, visit our school website. 

 

  • Walk/Run 5K for Autism on October 14: Moore Square Middle School students, staff, and community, please consider coming out and joining us as we participate with Team Dreaming Tree to walk/run the streets of Raleigh in support of the Autism Society of North Carolina. This annual 5K event is not only a great run/walk through the streets of historic Raleigh, with a final uphill ½ mile that will test your endurance, but also raises money for a great cause. The fee is $30, and all money goes to the Society. Join our team and help support the Autism Society of NC!

 

 

  • Schedule Changes: We will not be making any more changes to Q1 schedules. If students have a hole in their schedule or would like to change for Q2-Q4 then please complete the Course Request Change form.

 

  • Human Trafficking: Eighth graders who are in 1st Quarter Healthful Living will participate in a lesson on Human Trafficking on Friday, September 8th. NC Senate Bill 279 mandates that all students in grades 7-9 receive instruction concerning trafficking prevention and awareness and all WCPSS students in grades 7-9 will participate in a lesson.  If you wish for your student not to receive this information, please contact Mrs. Estes at 919-664-5737 ext. 26648 or email jestes2@wcpss.net.
